Blind

The man took his hands, pressed them together, and formed a bowl with them. He held his hands over the marble sink and moved them under the running stream of water. He didn’t wait for the water to fill up before splashing the water on his face. He repeated this process, rubbing his face in between splashes. After splashing his face with waves of water, he carefully walked down the aisle of stalls. He backed up far enough to where he could see if anyone was inside a stall. As he walked down the aisle he made sure nobody was inside of each of the stalls. He then hastily walked back towards the door of the bathroom, quickly turned the silver lock on the door, and locked the door. He then went over to one of the bathroom stalls and waited. He checked his watch, it was 11:22. He then sat down on the toilet and waited. Three more minutes later he checked his watch. He then looked up at the air vent above his stall. He waited with an impatient and nervous look. Not too long after, the faint sound of a heavy object came barreling down through the vent. The sound proceeded to get closer and louder. Then, a small cylindrical object fell out of the vent like a rocket falling back through the atmosphere. After the first one fell, the next one soon followed. Two bullets sat away from each other on the bathroom floor in front of the man. He bent over and picked them up and held them in his hand. He stood up and produced a pistol from his backside. He loaded the bullets into the gun and proceeded to place the pistol back between his waistband and his back. As he was tucking his shirt back in, he heard the doorknob of the bathroom shake. He ran over to the door and before opening it, he put his ear against the door and tried to listen and hear if anybody was on the other side. Unexpectedly, he heard nobody on the other side of the door. Before opening the door, he took a deep breath, washed his hands, and unlocked the door before stepping out into the hallway of the building. He looked around to see if anybody was there, but he didn’t see anybody who looked like they were waiting for the bathroom.

The man checked his watch while he walked through the building, it read: 11:40 am, it was close to lunch time, he felt relieved due to the fact that there would be countless people out throughout the building for their lunch break.

The man took no time descending the tiled stairs. Each step he made produced a satisfying click of the shoe against the tile. He was wearing black slacks and black dress shoes, everyone else was. The area around the man was big and vast. The ceiling was high above, like the clouds in the sky, the area was open and filled with people who all looked exactly like each other. They had black slacks, a professional shirt, and black dress shoes. They were all heading out to lunch, or wherever they needed to be. After descending the stairs, the man paused and looked around the vast area for a dark blue door. His task was to get inside of that door without being noticed. As he looked around he slightly walked around too. He was trying to not look suspicious while he looked so he would occasionally look down at his watch. He walked with a purpose so he would not attract attention to himself.

The door was off to the side of the main area of the building, it was in a dimly lit hallway that broke off from the big area. The man approached the door but did not focus on it, in case anyone was watching, instead, he sat down in a cushioned chair next to the door, the chair was similar to the ones you’d find in the waiting room of the doctor’s office. He loitered around the door for a while making sure the coast was clear. When the coast was clear, he stood up and walked towards the door. He moved his hand quickly and precisely towards the door handle. When he got a hold of it, he twisted the handle, the door opened and he went inside, quickly closing the door behind him.

Inside the room the lights were off. Even though the lights were off, the man knew the layout of the room, it was the layout of a janitor’s closet. The room was small and cluttered with items. There were boxes on shelves and mops leaning against corners, luckily for the man, there was a clipboard hanging from a nail on the wall of the room. The man took off a piece of paper from the clipboard and produced a pen from his back pocket. The man wrote down instructions meant for someone else to follow, the man then hid the piece of paper inside of his pistol. He then took the pistol and hid it behind two boxes on the top of one of the shelves in the room. He then exited the room and sat back down in the previous chair waiting to catch his breath.

At around 12:10, the man was walking, once again in the main hall. He had just left the dimly lit hall and was now making his way throughout the building towards the outside. There were still people walking the hall, it was still around lunch time, they all walked different directions, each with their own quest to fulfill. The man wondered what their goal was, what they had to accomplish for today. The man had one last thing to do and he was on his way to complete it. He walked and found another chair, this time it was in a busy area. He sat down and decided to take in the surroundings, he might as well considering he had been ahead of schedule. He leaned back in his chair and took a deep breath, trying to relax himself before he had to get up again. He looked up at the ceiling and the lights that hung down from them. He sat in that position for a while, as if time had stopped and he was frozen in place. The people around him didn’t notice him or they didn’t care to notice him. They just walked and kept walking to wherever they were heading.

The man sat up, he stretched his arms and let out a yawn before continuing his mission. He walked for a bit, then, unexpectedly, his back pocket started to vibrate. The man pulled out a phone from his back pocket, flipped it open, and looked at the digital screen. He recognized the number and pressed the accept call button. He held the phone up to his ear as he heard a familiar voice.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THEY’RE NOT BLIND, THEY’VE SEEN YOU, YOU NEED TO LEAVE,” the phone then disconnected from the call. The man hastily looked around to see if anyone was approaching him. His action gained more attention than it gave him information. He turned back around and this time, he walked with an actual purpose towards the entrance of the building.

Again, this is not finished at all, also probably not edited.

If you want to know how it ends, if I can remember, I'm pretty sure the guy makes a run for it and runs out of the building. Yeah that's kind of it.

Back!
